What's Worse Single Mother's or Child Abuse( when it comes to child development?)

So first we'll have to define child abuse , This is how the CDC defines child abuse .....



The amount that abused children and children of single mothers overlap statistically cannot be determined. Not all stats are equivocal but there seems to be a trend.

Crime


Child Abuse Victims 


 are twice as likely to participate in crime


make up 14% of Male Inmates


make up 36% of Female Inmates


Children raised by Single Mothers


Also twice as likely to participate in crime


Make up 70% of juveniles in state operated institutions


Make up 85% of youths in prison




Mental Health

80% of 21 year olds that were abused as children met criteria for at least one psychological 


disorder. (only includes children whom were abused)

made up 85% of all children that exhibit behavioral disorders (includes all children with behavioral disorders)


made up 63% of youth suicides

As many as two-thirds of the people in treatment for drug abuse reported being abused or neglected as children.
